Concrete Over Existing Countertops

Now we have done several concrete countertops before and have removed the old countertop and poured a whole new one.

We only used about half of the 10 lb. Set in fixtures such as. Skim on the concrete i applied four layers. Concrete countertops are often the domain of professionals but you can create a concrete overlay on an existing tiled countertop with a few humble supplies and materials.

But you can get the same look and feel of solid concrete by coating your old countertop with thin coats of cement based floor leveler or flooring underlayment. Seal covered in the next post. Smooth the concrete between the cracks of the existing tile. Concrete overlay for countertops is an ultra strong easy to apply concrete layer used to lay over existing laminate formica wood or tile countertops. Bag for the entire project. Apply only a thin layer at first just enough to fill in between the tiles.

Because you are only coating your existing countertop you don t need a lot of this product.
