It is also used to connect double wall stove pipe to an existing masonry chimney or a relined masonry chimney with a stainless steel chimney liner. A chimney stove pipe can be attached in different ways depending on the style and type of chimney and connection that is present. You do not have to line your chimney with a chimney liner.

When adding a small stove to a masonry fireplace it s best to add a solid fuel rated chimney liner system from the stove s flue flange all the way to the chimney cap. Building regulations allow direct connection of flue pipe to chimney as long as there is no danger of the building catching fire and that the combustibles smoke are successfully taken away via the flue.
