Convert Ventless Fireplace To Vented

This is a ventless propane fireplace and if you look at the elbows in the first picture they drilled holes to get air into the burner.

The flames that emit from the gas burner are intended to burn unobstructed. We have recently purchased a home that came with a ventless propane fireplace. You can replace it. The air mixer venturi needs to be below the burn area where it can always receive fresh air and not in the burn area.

The house is 1 finish on the floor and a couple of countertops short of being moved into so basically construction is completed. Is there any way to convert either of these vent free to a vented or are there any other cost effective solutions available to them other than replacing either. A vented gas log set provides an attractive flame appearance while a ventless gas log set prioritizes heat in order to produce more warmth for your home. There is no way to legally safely change convert the unvented firebox. Vented logs require your fireplace damper to always be open a certain amount so if you purchase them make sure to use a set of glass doors to help prevent heat loss. At least you don t really convert an unvented fireplace. Every time we turn it on it smells terrible.

If so what would have to be done and what would the ap. If you have a universal unvented firebox with unvented logs where the firebox and logs are a la carte you could re use the logs in a wood burning vented fireplace.
